Alocasias are water loving plants, so their soil must be kept moist all year long. Allow the top 2 inches of soil to dry out before watering again. It may be beneficial to keep this plant near a humidifier to replicate the conditions of a tropical climate.

+ Plant Tip :

Alocasias are extremely heavy feeders so in order to promote growth and overall health they need water soluble fertilizer, either 20-10-20 or 20-20-20. When it comes to repotting it depends on the size of the plant, smaller plants that can be left on tables need to be repotted 12 to 18 months. The size of the pot should only be 1’-2’ wider in diameter, if the pot is too large it can stunt your plant’s growth. If your plant is larger, it’s recommended that you repot it every 18-24 months, with a planter 2’-4’ wider in diameter.
